On the heels of our first MOM Remix album we’re ringing in the new year with DJ sets by all the artists that contributed their original remixes. The feedback has been great! Over the next two months we’ll get all of the these wonderful DJs/Producers behind the decks and heating up the dance floor from SF to LA!
DJ Chris Fox (Damn Gina!) has been rockin’ the other craziest early weekday party in SF, Damn Gina!, with Kool Karlo and a host of other evil wizards for the last 3 years! He’s malted faces and revived dance floors from the dead. Check out his remix/smashup of Mary Wells’ “Two Lovers” and some SNOOOOP Diggzee Dogg. We love the sly Fox Sounds!!

On the heels of our first MOM Remix album we’re ringing in the new year with DJ sets by all the artists that contributed their original remixes. The feedback has been great! Over the next two months we’ll get all of the these wonderful DJs/Producers behind the decks and heating up the dance floor from SF to LA!
DJ Design comes from the same time and place in Hip Hip history as Peanut Butter Wolf – from the south San Francisco Bay Area, where rap music in the mid-1980s could occasionally be heard from low rider mini trucks, bad kids’ bedrooms in the suburbs, and the occasional weekend house party right before the cops show up.
Design used to steal bikes, he tells us. Bicycle theft led to scratching, and scratching led to beats.
During the year 2000, in protest of a Sleazenation Magazine article that dissed his shoes, DJ Design staged a six-month-long death hoax. When Redman lamented his loss on an episode of MTV Cribs, he decided to come out of hiding. He brought with him a 12” single called Sparkdala, a battle record called Hookie and Baba Flakes Breaks, and a hip hop group called Foreign Legion.

DJ Deevice aka Martin Collins began DJing at the legendary Sub Club in Glasgow, becoming a resident and playing alongside the likes of SLAM, Derrick May, Funk D’Void, Darren Emerson & Ralph Lawson. Now based in San Francisco, he can be heard DJing at summer festivals like Outside Lands, and is the host of the award winning radio show GridLock on 87.9fm radiovalencia.fm. Tune in to GridLock every Thursday 12pm-2pm to to hear Deevice play futuristic beats from all around the world, across every genre of electronic music!

We are very excited to have our Honolulu resident back in his home by the bay this Monday! He’s been our Hawaiian hero and mad Motown maestro at the Next Door club in Honolulu since we launched our weekly island edition. Willie Maze helped start the infamous (((Local 1200))) DJ crew in Oakland with the likes of Tim Deisel, DJ Eleven, Sake-1, Namane & Duedaddy. Enough has been said. Don’t miss it!
