MOM DJs Gordo and Timo will be bringing their soulful sound to SF’s most attended and talked about museum, California Academy of Arts & Sciences. Every Thursday night, music, creatures and cocktails come together for the museum’s NightLife music series. Explore exhibits and aquarium displays while sipping creative cocktails, and let exotic animals from around the world transport you to the tropics, Tibet, and dozens of other remote destinations. Special planetarium shows will take you even farther afield. Each week features the museum books a live band or DJ, and a unique theme – from salsa dancing to sustainable seafood and beyond. MOM DJs are excited to be at the helm of this highly attended and unique evening where science, art and music converge!
For this particular evening folks will taste their way through seasonal treats from local purveyors including chocolaty delights from Hooker’s Sweet Treats, Ghirardelli, and Poco Dolce; Almanac Beer Co.’s Biere de Chocolat; Mission Minis’ tiny cupcakes; baked goods from Whole Foods, and cider provided by Motorcycle Wineries. Get into the spirit with your ugliest holiday sweater, flaunt it alongside the live reindeer visiting for ‘Tis the Season for Science, and learn about their wintry adaptations from an Academy presenter. Then stop by GoGo Craft’s mobile card-making workshop to create a unique holiday card and envelope for someone special, and include an impromptu photo snapped in Magnolia Photo Booth Co.’s MagBooth. Chat up an Academy botanist about the story behind you favorite holiday plants, and don’t miss performances by three-time-Grammy-nominee Quartet San Francisco, and additional Motown-inspired music by MOM SF DJs.
